Production Gira Radevormwald

The headquarters of the manufacturer Gira in Radevormwald has been continuously expanded over the past decades. The architects from Sauerbruch Hutton designed a new building complex that optimally combines the areas of innovation, production, logistics, and shipping.

The flexible concept allows these four main areas to be expanded independently of each other. The initial area of 30,000 square meters can be expanded to up to 50,000 square meters if needed, to accommodate the company’s growth.

A central access axis connects all departments and remains intact even with future expansions. The production hall is intersected by a modular skylight grid, which also provides the offices above with ample daylight and a pleasant working atmosphere through light wells. Even with a building expansion, this lighting concept remains unchanged, ensuring a consistent connection to the outside world both in the hall and in the offices.
