HQ Beiersdorf
In the heart of Hamburg, in the Eimsbüttel district, Beiersdorf has constructed its impressive new headquarters—a six-story, transparent building that appears to float above the entrance area. Covering 95,000 square meters, the building provides space for 3,000 workstations and embodies the global corporation’s deep connection to the Hanseatic city.
Teherani’s understated yet elegant design seamlessly blends with the surrounding existing and residential buildings. Particularly noteworthy: the headquarters received dual certification under the WELL standard for employee well-being and the LEED seal for sustainability—a forward-looking workplace that perfectly combines form and function.

Special features
For the Hamburg-based global company Beiersdorf, Hadi Teherani has designed a new corporate headquarters that reflects the core of the traditional company in modern architecture while also meeting the demands of contemporary, efficient work. The six-story building won out in a three-phase competition, with its transparent facade elegantly and subtly integrated into the existing and residential buildings in Eimsbüttel. It creates a new, identity-defining center for the Beiersdorf campus.
The new, green campus with open public spaces further connects the area with the surrounding neighborhood. The architecture employs an innovative approach: the building was “elevated,” allowing the ground floor area to be designed flexibly and openly without supporting elements. This also enables an ideal arrangement of workspaces on the floors above.
The building features a comb-like floor plan, with five wings housing the office and conference rooms. Covering a floor area of around 95,000 m², the headquarters accommodates approximately 3,000 workstations. The main entrance on Troplowitzstraße leads through a representative zone with a water basin and fountains into the light-filled reception area. A special highlight is the “Blue Wall,” a Nivea-blue wall that showcases brand images and objects, subtly guiding visitors through the company’s world.
The floor-to-ceiling glazing creates an open atmosphere, emphasizing the seamless transition between inside and outside and reinforcing the campus character. In line with Beiersdorf’s and Teherani’s focus on sustainable building, the structure has been certified according to both the LEED standard for sustainability and the WELL standard for employee well-being.
